My check register balance is different from my checking account in my general ledger. I found out why but I don't know how to correct it. It looks like two payroll entries were made for the same person on the same day. One was recorded on a check number and is in the check register and the other is just sitting out there but affected my general ledger cash account and did not record in the check register. I am not sure how this happened. Please let me know how to correct it. I tried to reverse the one entry by doing a GJ entry but then it affected my check register and reversed the one check that was correct.
